Web Production Specialist (Position Filled)

Exware is seeking web production specialist to build client websites using our in-house content management system.

You will work with a team of graphic designers and web programmers, integrating their work into complete web sites.  Your job is to provide the content itself (either obtaining it from clients, or creating it when necessary), and structuring it in such a way as to make the web sites easy to navigate, understand, and use.  This is not a graphic design or web development job, although familiarity with web design tools and technologies is essential.  Rather, your role is essentially that of an editor, who selectively combines content, designs, and dynamic components in the way that best suits the clients' needs and means.

Key tasks will be
  • setting up web pages
  • designing menus, navigation, and site maps
  • creating, importing, and editing content
  • configuring web site modules to meet client specifications
  • meeting with clients for purposes of review, support, and training
Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are critical to the fulfillment of your duties.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelors degree in arts, communications, or equivalent.
  • Diploma in web/multimedia/graphic design, or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills

  • Writing, both for website content and technical documentation
  • Comfortable working with standard web technologies, including HTML and CSS.
  • Understanding of usability and web accessibility issues.
  • Search-engine optimization.
  • Understanding of multilingual issues on the web, including character sets and character encoding.
  • Understanding of web standards, and creating cross-browser compatible pages.
  • Understanding of content management systems and how they work.  (Training will be provided in the particular system you will be using.)
